681 Classification Example Tracing Note (R) (Variable Data Field)
Field definition and scope:
Field 681 contains a note that documents the use of the classification number in field 153 (Classification Number) of the record as an example or reference in field 253 (Complex See Reference), 353 (Complex See Also Reference) and/or 6XX note fields of another record. It permits the updating of the 253, 353, or 6XX fields in the related record when a change is made to a 153 field.
The information in this field is primarily intended to serve as a tracing of the use of classification numbers in examples and notes to assist classifiers in updating records. It is often not written in a form adequate for public user display.
Field 681 is repeatable.
