042 Authentication Code

Field definition and scope:

Field 042 will contain one or more authentication codes assigned by centers that review and upgrade, if necessary, an authority record in a national database. When defined, the authentication codes will be compatible with those used in other cooperative projects.

Field 042 is NOT repeatable.
